Our company was founded in 1994 as Corporate Buying Service, offering the IT industry's first real-time access into the inventories of multiple manufacturers and distributors. The company quickly became recognized as the best solution to simplify the IT procurement process by combining inventories of the largest IT manufacturers and distributors into a single web-based portal. This "one portal, one process" design transformed the company into a leading IT procurement channel.

In 1999, the company changed its name to MoreDirect and in 2002 became a wholly-owned subsidiary of PC Connection, Inc. (NASDAQ: CNXN). In 2016, the PC Connection, Inc. family of companies, including MoreDirect, PC Connection, GovConnection, and Softmart, changed its brand name to "Connection".
